Avrom Aronson
Chazzan
The oldest of 14 children, Avrom's early years were in Sunderland where his father was a long standing member of the Sunderland Kolel and one of the last families to move away.
Already from early years Avrom showed a keen interest in music and at the age of 5 was flown over to Holland to be a child soloist at the televised rededication of the Kerkstraat Shul in Amsterdam.
His Grandfather also a Chazzan was trained by top pre war chazzanim including Chazzan Marroco with many a tip now handed down to Avrom and used on a weekly basis.
Married to his wife Rivka and with four children, Ayala, Ittai, Ceejay and Noa, he runs a successful Telecoms company during the week and shares his voice at Stenecourt on Shabbos and Yom tov.
His style is subtle and pleasant and as he calls "21st Century Chazzaanus".
"Gone are the days where people want to come to Shul to listen to the Chazzan" he says, "today the Chazzan is there to help the community daven with song and I get no better satisfaction when everyone joins in whether they can sing or not"
Avrom is in heavy demand to sing at chuppas, weddings and public events and hopes music and his chazzanut continues for many years to come.
