The unveiling of the matzeva in loving memory of Mrs Sadie Hyman, mother of Mr Alan Hyman, will take place at 1:30 pm on Sunday 9 May 2010 at New Farnley Cemetery, Leeds.

Yom Yerushalayim Celebration
There will be a Yom Yerushalayim event in the Bnei Akiva Bayit on Tuesday 11th May at 8pm. The format of the evening will include a special Tefilla, a speech from Rabbi Kanterovitz and refreshments sponsored by The Jewish Agency. In the past, Yom Yerushalayim in Manchester has had minimal celebration and publicity, and therefore I am appealing to as many people as possible within this community to attend this event and mark this special occasion.

Shavuos Funday
The Shavuos Funday will take place at Stenecourt on Sunday 16th May. The event, in conjunction with Bnei Akiva, will feature crafts and activities for primary -aged children
There are 5 places left at this event so if your child wants to enjoy an afternoon of Shavuos crafts, nash and fun, please register quickly. The event is on Sunday 16th May 4 - 5.30pm. Register with Sandi Mann or via the shul office.

Shavuos for Ladies & Girls
There will be a ground breaking ladies learning programme on the second day Shavuos 6pm-7pm. All Ladies and girls invited. Details Rabbi Benjamin Simmonds.

The Stenecourt Club
The next meetings of the Stenecourt Club will be on this Thursday 13 May 2010, guest speaker Merton Paul whose topic will be “Don’t just stand there, buy something!” (an illustrated history of the Manchester Jewish Community)
Thursday 3 June 2010 guest speaker Rev Gabriel Brodie on the topic “My experiences of talking to non-Jewish groups”. Meetings will take place in the Reception Room commencing at 2:00pm,

Chesed Group
If anyone has anyone information either family or friends of people who are unwell or hospitalised can they please contact Stephen Niman, 07939060874 or 79503257, and he will arrange that they will be visited.

Anniversary of a Barmitzvah
If anyone has the anniversary of their Barmitzvah Sedra approaching and would like to read the Haftorah, or even lein, would they please notify the Gabbai a few weeks in advance, so that he can check if it can be arranged.

The Mi Shaberach list is to be re-started in the near future. If existing names are to be retained, please let the office or the Gabbai know.

Rabbi Rubinstein’s Shiur
Mrs Ruth Elton cordially invites the congregation to Kiddush in the Max & Hanna Rowe Hall immediately after davening, to celebrate Richard’s Auf Ruff, followed by Rabbi Rubinstein’s Shiur about “Parshas Hashovuah and Laws of Shabbos” in the Beis Hamedrash.
