Motzei Shabbat, Parshas Bashalach, was the Stenecourt Melava Malka. It was a very special evening enjoyed by everyone who was there. Many thanks to Jonathan and his team for an excellent and moving evening, it was obvious that a lot of thought and hard work went into it. Those of you who were unable to attend missed a very special event.
The special guest speaker was Dayan Yonoson Abraham, who travelled Motzei Shabbat through fog and bad weather to enthrall us with his wonderful words.
There was also an unscheduled visit to our Melava Malka by Zvi and Atara Regev, the parents of Eldad Regev, one of the kidnapped soldiers held in Lebanon. They were accompanied by Elana Levy, who is the spokesperson for the three kidnapped boys.
Dayan Abrahams acknowledged their arrival mid-speech, and addressed them most touchingly in Ivrit and English. It was a moving moment to witness.
Reverend Brodie invited Elana to speak, and she gave a most moving synopsis of the plight of the soldiers and their families, highlighting the seeming apathy shown by governments and international welfare organisations. Please click on the picture below to visit the website dedicated to the missing soldiers for more information and to sign their petition.

We were also entertained by our very own and talented Stenecourt Singers, who although were depleted in numbers gave an excellent performance.
Delicious nutrition for the evening was supplied by Ushi's Catering.
Many thanks to everyone involved, it really was an enjoyable evening!
Thanks to Gidon Stemmer for his assistance with this article and for hosting the families.
